WIDE RUSSIAN

granite

Three multicoloured granite pieces host engraved images of three russian authors in war zones. It creates a connection between Eduard Limonov, Zakhar Prilepin, and the rapper Husky, as well as the geography from the besieged Sarajevo in the 1990s to the Donetsk region in the 2010s and 2020s. The formal stretching of the image refers to the “wide putin” meme, which went viral several years ago. Sculpture tries to document certain forgotten war crimes of russia and how culture is tied and responsible.
